Lonely in Kansas

Born 1946On the day my darlin' wife
Kicked me out of the house
On the day my lovin' son
Said "Pop, you're such a louse"
I knew the pains of loneliness
Like I was laid out in a hearse
But then I laughed with happiness,
Thought, "Man, it could be worse"
Lonelier is a Burger King
In the Hindu streets of Madras
Loneliest is a Democrat
Lost in the fields of Kansas
So when I feel my sorrow increase
I think of that lonely dude
My trials are nothin' next to his
Stuck in such a Republican 'hood.
