Won't you help support DayPoems? Veneers of Truth in WarBy William Brendan McPhillips21st CenturyThe truth is never true, because beneath What makes it truth another truth remains, And that, as yet, unknown truth pulls the sheath Of certainty, then who's conviction reigns? To honor your conviction must I lie, Denying mine to prove I am your friend? Consensus then, you say, will bring us nigh. Archaic, I know, but so is truth we fend.
