Won't you help support DayPoems? An Impression of SunriseBy Brian Okabayashi21st CenturyO'er the heavens dawning, bringing life anew, Thine hues so wondrous ever smear, With all the guising of that which seems askew, As thou hast for centuries done, rid us fear. O orb, O orb, O sphere the brightest in the sky, Orange gossamers upon a dusky smile you spread, Nothing telling us, searing as the sour rye, You must send an answer, adjure with red. The turbid smudge of ages brakes Only our wretchedness when we view Elysium's vibrance shrouded in snakes. O help us better understand your queue! A cloud of fright envelops, ensues, O' time's tremulous terror overwhelm Thy stockings in which I wish to better fit thy shoes, Fore'er you must rise and bright'n the realm. Exhausted through the epochs that hath pass'd, You rise up not another day, Thusly, hence thy temper crass'd, A cold, wintery hour whence thou sa'est nay. We are meaningless in nature's scheme: So save us from the ageless ruin, Only machines of ours you crave ream, Arise again and show of opposite darken. DayPoems Poem No. 2384 Comment on DayPoems?
