Mother LoveBy George Jerone Jefferson21st CenturyFrom the movement in the womb Kicking her with every turn Mother watch her child come to age Mother was proud of her child This child of her Was good and gentle in her ways Everyone always gave praise Of how well the child was behave In such a world as today it hard To be an angel and kind to all Mother now thinks about Velvet her first step The trust in mother love Velvet first words Hold close to the heart As velvet call to mother love These words Must tell about the night Foolish act by a young boy Of twenty-three years old Took Mrs. brown baby girl away With a bullet in her back As she was walking along Talking what A pretty brown girl Has on her mind Football game was subject Who know what a girl Only thirteen years old Foolish act of man Cut her life short She never has dreams Come true Velvet did not deserve go such way She will be missed by friend family The blame is on us For we must teach a better way We must remember The children our future Pray God grace be all us To let our children come to age In honor of velvet brown Let work to stop the killing We must promote love In young children from the cradle Like in the day of old As the ancestor want us to do Put love of God in our life As we learn to love each other We can live together Stop the violent Enough tears been spilled Forever Stop the violent stop the killing In honor our young sister velvet brown All of young life stolen away We can make a different Stop killing stop the violent In honor of special young sister.
