Won't you help support DayPoems? Gotti StyleBy Beverly Bishop21st CenturyI can spew words like John Gotti could To the Mafia. Like a fast chugging train Engine, wheels grinding on hand laid tracks. Unlike Gotti though, my spew don't bring Forth "Death's Ghost." Unlike that train Engine, I bring no smoke. Only fire will rise under the politician's ass To make a more suitable change for those living In poverty. Now, I hear lecture after lecture Of this white power bulls--t and I think of White's in poverty, there is no power there. Shunned and let known that the poor push no Damn words to the rich greenbill scouters In congress. I think words should be used carefully But somehow this mind rotates to anger and nasty Words reach to the peak of my tongue. When I see a schoolteacher who will not get a raise Of dollar change living in poverty, my tongue Loosens. When I see a mentor trying to bring about Change of behavior in a young man or woman's life, And then the mentor is let go because of lack of Funding, my tongue loosens. When I see a politician Decking another woman instead of his vowed wife and That adultery is entertained and my dollar bills pay for his tush to lie on fine linens in a house built For a family of 50 comfortably, my tongue loosens Like John Gotti style. Yet, I advocate. No black steel trigger pulleys Do I need? No "Death Ghost" comes to visit. And, that "Black Hole" everyone talks about Describes a sad child with bare feet, dirty clothes, A hungry belly, suffering congress's cut backs on Nutrition, Nurturing, Education, Role Modeling, And the Equality of Life.
