Awake Wayne

21st Century

The man came down with a brand new plan
Struck down the source of his anxiety with the back of his hand
Sheep in wolf's clothing
His dark side growing
Groaning
Our antogonist returned to the rightousness of reality
Some sense of normality
Thank you
Said his children
Back to
What he's building
The remnants of his future lay before him
Penance for the four of them
An angel watched inside of him
Lay down
Beside of him
He slept
Wept
For four days and fourty nights
Through silent screams
And silent nights
He slept
Wept
For all the precious moments lost
For all the crying gone unheard
For all the unbuilt bridges burned
For all the moments he forgot to yearn
For her
Now as he lays them down to sleep
From night to morning demons creep
Down his spine
Up through his feet
Mistakes again that he repeats
Like they're over
If just one more night he makes it through
He'll thank the lord for things he'll do
Make up for those moments few
When
He slept
Wept
Now is the time for promises spoken
No more crying over what's been broken
His history haunts him
Images of ghosts that keep on to taunt him
Tonight
Let him sleep
For him
Tonight
I weep
