Room For The Children

By Paul McCann

21st Century

Don't deprive our children bread and wine from the communion cup.
Don't give them seats to sit upon and then ask them to shut up .
Don't put them in a crying room in a little church in town ,
Don't you think its time to change,
you have to turn your hearts around.

Don't you think the children should feel welcome as they come inside
We are all Gods children and a family you can't divide.
Don't place icons near the altar and candles everywhere,
Then tell the children not to light them and stop their silent prayer.

You don't have the authority to put children in their place,
Stop making waves that cannot save the smiles from our children's face.
Instead learn to be like Jesus who said,
Unless you can be,
Like innocent little children,
then you cannot be with me .
