The Son of the Green Sea

By Frederick J. Mayer

21st Century

There is a sea of green
         deep inside of us.
The waves crest high
         near heart-swollen eyes.
Fish died on the shore
         as farewell waves rescinded,
To a world which doesn't permit.
Here no eyes can see
         what touches man.

Sail the sea of green
         with me
Find out why the sky
         is stormy.
Be not fisherman with hook,
         but mere swimmer.
Only in the sea may
         one be free.
Dive, my friend, into
         an emerald sea.

Be wet with the Sun.
