Over the Edge
21st Century
Two were silent and still
ignoring the others pain.
Two were silent and still
together on different planes.
Treading softly
absent of speech.
Thoughts progress,
aggressively breaching
the borders of sanity.
Obsessively seeking
the mind of the other.
No sign of it weakening.
Living vicariously,
or so it seems,
until the intent
costs much more than the means.
Two were silent and still
experiencing each others pain.
Two were silent and still
slowly going insane.
